Description: The Museum of Latin American Art educates the public through the collection, preservation, presentation and interpretation of modern and contemporary Latin American art to promote cross-cultural dialogue. Founded in 1996, it is the only museum in the United States exclusively dedicated to modern and contemporary Latin American art. A Smithsonian Affiliate since 1999, the museum has displayed artworks from the Smithsonian's Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden. For the last several years, the Museum of Latin American Art has been a partner with the Smithsonian Latino Center in the Young Ambassador Program which develops leadership and academic skills.
