National Museum of the American Indian address

Be sure to stop by the Welcome Desk as you enter the museum for a schedule of activities and programs. If you are visiting the museum with young children, you may particularly enjoy the hands-on activities and other resources available in the imagiNATIONS Activity Center.

Upcoming Family Events

Activities are held every Saturday and Wednesday from 1 to 3 PM. Participants learn about the traditions behind each activity and try their hand at it. Families may then explore the museum's galleries to find examples of these Native traditions.

Teaching Carts

Discover some of the ingenious ways a cattail was used, compare techniques developed to build boats in the Americas, or feel the differences between styles of pottery. Look for one of the NMAI's Cultural Interpreters and these signature red carts.
